Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is probably the main
attractions for visitors who come to Chiang Mai, and probably easiest to see.
Borommathat Wat Phra Doi Suthep Doi Suthep is located on the side of some 3,000
meters above sea level. This place may be the most beautiful scenery you may
see. Built by King Gue-Na in 1383, this temple a large chedi of copper plates
(22 feet in height) covered with gold and contains the relics of the Buddha
made.
Besides being a major tourist destination, the
temple is very important, because the followers of Buddhist pilgrimage site
visited during the year. The temple has four worship space and to find a golden
statue of Buddha in the temple. To get there, you can climb a ladder (300
steps) or by cable car.
Details: The cost of the trip by cable car to the
temple is 40 baht. There is no entry fee but a donation of 20 baht you are to
give advice. Temple is open daily in the periods from 7.00 to 17.00 and the
clock is a very popular tourist destination, so you can estimate the amount
throughout the day.
Getting there: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, 15 kilometres
from Chiang Mai. Perhaps the easiest way is to go to one of the many buses
that leave regularly Songtaew type the city, the temple of the market at the
corner Chotana Manneenopparat road and the road (outside the door to Changpuak)
and costs 60 baht (35 baht and 25 baht to the temple to return fare). A series
of package tours leave from the city at a cost of about 600-1000 baht.
